Day 5 Rain tested

Today marked the first day of riding in inclement weather. Lee says that all 3 of them are rain tested after a day of rain, clearing, then more rain, in repeated cycles. They rode safely and made it to Gardiner, MT in good time. After breakfast they all soaked in the hot pools one more before leaving Chico Hot Springs today. Other than the rain today's ride was uneventful (a good thing). After arriving at their hotel they relaxed in the pool and did some laundry. Dinner was a hit! Half pound buffalo cheeseburgers that required 2 hands to hold. Smiling faces all around!

This was the last of a 5 day warm up that Lee had built into the schedule to prepare for the next few days of more intense riding. They will experience higher vertical climbs as they cross the continental divide and view some absolutely majestic scenery.

DAILY STATS:
33 miles from Chico Hot Springs, MT to Gardiner, MT
10:15 am to 2:00 pm, mostly rain
No altitude gain today
209 total miles to date

Tomorrow they ride through the northern portion of Yellowstone National Park. Our prayer is for safety as they enjoy the beauty of God's creativity, seeing everything from buffalo to birds(hopefully no bears), mudpots, and so much more.
